A document of 1216 by which King Gojong of Goryeo approved the conferring of the title of great Seon master on Hyesim, the second patriarch of Songgwangsa on Jogyesan. It is written in ink on a scroll made of seven lengths of silk — red, yellow and white, patterned with lozenges and flowers — joined together, 3.6 m long and 33 cm high. Very few royal certificates granted to monks in the Goryeo period survive, which makes it a document of the first importance.
