An early Goryeo celadon incense burner, 15.3 cm high with a stand 11.2 cm across, in two parts, lid and body. The lid is a pierced globe, to let the incense rise and spread, over a supporting base; a single white dot marks each point where the openwork crosses. The body itself is in two parts. The upper part is a round brazier wrapped in several layers of chrysanthemum leaves, supported in turn by a large chrysanthemum leaf. The lower part is the stand that carries it, held up on the backs of three rabbits. Scrolls are carved on the side of the stand, and the rabbits' eyes are dots of black. The glaze is grey-blue with a soft sheen. It can be counted a kind of inlaid celadon, and it employs a variety of techniques rarely found together in Goryeo celadon. For all its fine craft ornament, it is a stable and outstanding incense burner, harmonious and balanced as a whole.
