Family Register of Hwaryeong-bu Prefecture Written in the Late Goryeo Dynasty
고려말 화령부 호적 관련 고문서 · 高麗末 和寧府 戶籍 關聯 古文書

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis household register was drawn up in 1390, the second year of King Gongyang of Goryeo, at Yeongheung, the ancestral home of Yi Seong-gye (1335–1408), King Taejo, who founded Joseon. Goryeo aristocrats drew up their household registers once every three years, in two copies: one was reported to the government office, and the owner kept the other. This appears to be the copy Yi Seong-gye kept himself. The document states Yi Seong-gye's offices and stipend, and includes the name of Yi Bang-won, later King Taejong. It also records the children, brothers, sons-in-law and slaves living with Yi Seong-gye as head of the household. Written before he founded Joseon, it is a reference for tracing his lineage and a very precious source for the study of the household register system of the time.
