Sipchil sachan gogeum tongyo (Essentials of Seventeen Dynastic Histories), Volume 17
십칠사찬고금통요 권17 · 十七史纂古今通要 卷十七

A digest by Hu Tingfang of Yuan of the seventeen official histories of China, from high antiquity to the Five Dynasties. It is thought to have been printed and issued in 1412, the twelfth year of King Taejong, using Gyemija, the type cast in 1403, the third year of his reign. It is a single book of leaves 1 to 33, of which leaf 11 and everything from leaf 34 on are missing. It is badly worn: the top of the page cannot be read on leaves 29 to 33. A yellow cover was put over the original and reinforced with red cotton. It measures 18.7 cm by 25.6 cm. Printing in Gyemija had not passed its first technical stage, and a day's output was only a few leaves; but as the first bronze type cast in Joseon under those conditions it stands out, and it is regarded as a very precious source for the history of type-casting and typesetting in Goryeo and Joseon.
