A Baekje gold hairpin, a kind of hair ornament, found in the Tomb of King Muryeong in Gongju. It was found at the king's head inside the wooden coffin, and is 18.4 cm long and 6.8 cm wide at the top. It is an inverted triangle, broad above and narrow below, ending in three prongs, so it seems to have been worn in the hair. The triangular top is a bird with spread wings, and the three prongs form a long tail, so that it looks like a bird in flight. Flowers are stamped in relief on the wings to left and right, and below them symmetrical scrolls fill the space completely. Rows of small dots punched with a chisel point outline the bird's head and wings. All the patterns are raised by hammering from behind (repoussé), with incised line for details. Found at the king's head, with its end divided into three, it appears to have been a hair ornament worn at ceremonies.
