An early Joseon white porcelain bowl carrying on the tradition of Goryeo white porcelain, 7.6 cm high, 17.5 cm across the mouth and 6.2 cm across the foot. The body has a texture like plaster and thin walls. The rim turns slightly outward, and a simplified scroll runs round the upper inside. On the outside, double bands run round the top and bottom, with a lotus scroll between them in inlay. Inlaid white porcelain of this kind was made mainly around the mid-fifteenth century, at kilns in Gyeongsang and a few other provinces that carried on Goryeo methods.
