This is a three-story stone pagoda located in Chungung-dong, Gwangju, Gyeonggi-do, consisting of a three-story pagoda body set on a two-tier foundation. The base stone of the foundation and the middle stone of the lower tier are carved from a single piece of stone, but unfortunately most of it is buried underground, and part of the topmost stone of the lower tier is broken and missing. Pillar shapes are carved on the upper foundation tier and on the body stones of each story of the pagoda. The underside of the roof stones is flat and the upper surface shows a gentle slope, but the upward curve at the four corners is pronounced, giving a light, buoyant feel. As the body stones diminish in size from the first story to the second and third, the roof stones likewise become smaller, giving the whole pagoda a very stable overall impression. The detailed style of the pagoda also retains the typical features of late Silla stone pagodas, so it is presumed to date no later than the mid-Goryeo period. During repair work in 1966, small pagodas made of steatite (soapstone) were discovered inside the pagoda.
