"Calligraphy by An Jung-geun – Imjeokseonjinwijanguimu" is one of the pieces of calligraphy that An Jung-geun (1879–1910) wrote in prison in February and March of 1910, shortly before his death at Lüshun Prison on 26 March 1910, following his shooting of Ito Hirobumi, the mastermind behind Japan's invasion of Joseon, at Harbin Station in Manchuria on 26 October 1909. This piece was written in March 1910 and reads "臨敵先進 爲將義務" ("When facing the enemy, to advance first is the duty of a general"). On the left is the inscription "庚戌三月 於旅順獄中 大韓國人 安重根 謹拜" ("In the third month of the Gyeongsul year, respectfully written in Lüshun Prison by An Jung-geun, a man of Korea"), together with a seal impression made with his left palm. The brushwork and the palm-print seal match those on other pieces of An Jung-geun's calligraphy that have been designated as Treasures.
