Cheonmachong is Tomb No. 155 among the tumuli of Hwangnam-dong, Gyeongju. It was excavated in 1973, and along with many precious grave goods such as a gold crown and bracelets, a painting of a cheonma (a heavenly horse) was found, and the tomb was accordingly named "Tomb of the Heavenly Horse." This necklace was found inside the coffin within Cheonmachong, positioned around the upper chest, indicating that it was worn as a necklace. It is made of gold, silver, jade, and glass, and in addition to the main strand, it has short strands hanging down on either side near the chest. Six strands of blue glass beads and gold and silver ornaments are linked together at regular intervals, with large curved jade beads suspended on either side. When worn around the neck, the whole piece forms a V shape. It is an especially splendid piece compared with necklaces excavated from other tombs. A similar necklace was excavated from Geumnyeongchong Tomb in Gyeongju, but the necklace from Cheonmachong is considerably smaller than that one.
