Gold Pendants from Hwangnam-dong, Gyeongju
KOGL Type 1Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.kr

These gold pendants, 15.5 cm long, with one long strand and three short strands, were found in the tomb of King Michu of Silla in Hwangnam-dong, Gyeongju. The long strand is made of hollow gold beads linked by flower-shaped ornaments twisted from gold thread, with a piece of jade of a kingfisher-green colour attached at the end. The short strands take the same form as the long one. It is not certain whether the pendants survive today in their original form, but among the pendants excavated from Silla tombs, this is the most sumptuous example.
