The Documents of the Gorimgun Branch of the Jeonju Yi Clan comprise four old documents dating from 1502, the eighth year of the reign of Yeonsangun, to 1593, the 26th year of King Seonjo, of the Joseon period. They consist of one heoyeo mungi (1502), a document dividing property; one dongbok hwahoe mungi (1528), a document recording the division of property agreed by the children of a deceased owner; one dongbok hwahoe ipui (before the Japanese invasions of 1592–1598); and one dongbok hwahoe seongmun (1593). These documents record the inheritance and distribution of property across two generations and among their children: from Yi Hun, Gorimgun, grandson of Grand Prince Hyoryeong, the second son of King Taejong, to his son Seon-son, Chilsangun. The heoyeo mungi and dongbok hwahoe mungi are documents by which Yi Hun, Gorimgun, transferred property to his son Chilsangun; the dongbok hwahoe ipui and dongbok hwahoe seongmun are documents by which Chilsangun distributed property to his siblings by agreement. They are valued as important materials for research into property inheritance within the Joseon royal family and into economic history.
