Worin seokbo is a Buddhist scripture compiled in 1459, the fifth year of King Sejo, by combining Worin cheongangjigok and Seokbo sangjeol. Seokbo means a chronicle of Sakyamuni Buddha, that is, an account of his life. When Queen Soheon, of the Shim clan, died in 1446, the twenty-eighth year of King Sejong, King Sejong ordered his son Prince Suyang (later King Sejo) to pray for her repose by consulting Buddhist texts and translating and compiling them into Hangeul; the result was Seokbo sangjeol. In 1447, the twenty-ninth year of his reign, King Sejong read Seokbo sangjeol and composed hymns of praise corresponding to each pair of verses; this became Worin cheongangjigok. As a complete set of Worin seokbo does not survive today, the total number of volumes originally produced cannot be confirmed. Volumes 13 and 14 of Worin seokbo are likewise a first edition published in King Sejo's reign, comprising two volumes in two books. The books measure 22.6 cm in width and 32.8 cm in height. In Volume 13 the first leaf is missing and there is severe damage in places. In Volume 14, all leaves from the eighty-second onward have come away; judging from its condition, it is presumed, like other such volumes, to have once been placed inside a pagoda. The content of Volume 13 covers the latter part of canto 281 through canto 282 of Worin cheongangjigok, while Volume 14 contains cantos 282 to 293.
