목우자수심결(언해)(1984) · 牧牛子修沁訣(諺解)(1984)

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThe Susimgyeol (Secrets on Cultivating the Mind), written by the Goryeo-dynasty monk State Preceptor Bojo Jinul, was translated into Hangeul by the Joseon-dynasty monk Hyegakjonja Sinmi during the reign of King Sejo. Moguja is Jinul's Dharma name, and the Susimgyeol is a text he composed to prevent conflict between the Seon and Gyo schools of Buddhism and to reveal the true nature of humankind. Besides the Susimgyeol itself, this book also brings together four other beobeo (Buddhist sermons), including the Hwansan jeongeung seonsa si Mongsan beobeo (Sermon of Seon Master Hwansan Jeongeung Addressed to Mongsan). The copy held in the Gyujanggak, the former royal library, was printed from woodblocks by the Gangyeong Dogam in 1467, the thirteenth year of King Sejo. It was carefully written out by the noted calligrapher Anhye and others, engraved onto woodblocks, and printed on mulberry paper; it measures 23.1 cm in height and 17 cm in width. It is a valuable source both for understanding the nature of the Gangyeong Dogam and for research into the early Hunminjeongeum.
