This Reproduction of the Cheonsang Yeolcha Bunyajido (Celestial Chart) Stone is an astronomical chart with constellations engraved on stone. Within a circle representing the sky, 1,467 stars are depicted, and below it is inscribed an account of how the chart came to be made, together with a list of those who took part. Apart from slight differences in layout, the content is identical to that of the chart first made in 1395, the fourth year of King Taejo, and the explanatory text is an essay by Gwon Geun. The overall composition is in fact finer and more imposing than that of the original carving. The original engraving of 1395 had worn down over time until it became difficult to read, and so it was re-carved in 1687, the thirteenth year of King Sukjong. The reasons for the chart's production and the process behind it are recorded in detail in the Jeungbo Munheon Bigo, the Sangwigo and the Seoungwanji.
