This celadon prunus vase (maebyeong) was made in the Goryeo period and stands 38.9 cm high, with a mouth diameter of 5.1 cm and a base diameter of 15.6 cm. It is a typical Goryeo maebyeong, with the body swelling broadly from the shoulder before narrowing toward the base, and a faceted mouth. The neck is low and constricted, harmonising with the small, low mouth. Using the black-and-white inlay technique, thin branches of plum blossom and bamboo are boldly arranged on the front and back of the body, with birds and cranes in flight and grass rendered pictorially between them. The surface of the vessel has a clear, pale blue-green tone, with fine crackle (bingnyeol) visible across the entire glaze. The piece is notable for the way its pictorial inlaid designs of plum, birds and bamboo harmonise with the clear celadon glaze.
