The Sinchan byeogonbang is a book newly compiled by Heo Jun at royal command in 1613, the fifth year of King Gwanghaegun. It describes the causes of onyeok (epidemic fever), its pulse patterns, symptoms, the names of medicinal materials, methods of treatment, and ways of warding off the disease. At the front is a preface written by Yi Jeong-gu in the second month of 1613, and at the end is a colophon stating that the book was printed at the Naeuiwon by royal command in the second month of the forty-first year of the Wanli era (1613), followed by the official titles and names of the proofreading officials Yi Hui-heon and Yun Hwa-mi. At the beginning of the book is only a royal-gift seal reading Seonsajigi (Record of Royal Bestowal); the name of the recipient is not recorded. The book is valuable as a source for the history of disease. This manuscript copy is currently held at the Heo Jun Museum.
