Three-story Stone Pagoda at Cheollyongsa Temple Site in Namsan Mountain, Gyeongju
경주 남산 천룡사지 삼층석탑 · 慶州 南山 天龍寺址 三層石塔

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis pagoda had collapsed at the old site of Cheollyongsa Temple and was newly restored in 1990 by supplying its missing parts. It stands as a three-storey body set on a single-tier foundation; the investigation carried out in 1990 confirmed that the foundation does indeed consist of a single tier. Judging from the diminishing size of the plinth carved beneath the body stone of each storey, and from the brisk slope of the rain-drip surface on the roof stones, the pagoda is presumed to have been made around the ninth century, in the late Unified Silla period. It is regrettable that part of the foundation and most of the finial have been lost or damaged, so that the pagoda's original appearance can no longer be seen.
