The Daeungjeon Hall of Neunggasa Temple is a building rebuilt in the mid-18th century, with a frontage of five bays and a side of three bays, covering 57.58 pyeong, a traditional Korean unit of floor area of which one pyeong is roughly 3.3 square metres. Its bracket sets generally follow the typical technique of the dapo style, in which bracket clusters are placed both above the columns and between them, here with three outer and four inner tiers; but the anchogong technique on the capitals of the front columns, a supplementary bracket carved to project from the column head, together with the lavish decoration in lotus-bud motifs inside and outside the building, follows the same lineage as the treasure-designated Daeungjeon Halls of Bulgapsa Temple in Yeonggwang and Gaeamsa Temple in Buan. The cheomcha, a horizontal bracket-arm member, carved in high relief on the panelling between the brackets is a rare feature among temple buildings. Showing one aspect of Honam-region temple architecture of the mid-to-late Joseon period, the hall has important academic and art-historical value.
