This is a manuscript map of the whole of Joseon, believed to have been produced by Kim Jeong-ho in the mid-19th century. Like the Daedong yeojido, it is made in a folding-album format of 23 sections. The overall outline of the Korean peninsula, the mountain systems and river systems, the road network and most other content match the Daedong yeojido, and the map legend, corresponding to a key, is also very similar to that of the Daedong yeojido. Because Dongyeodo is a manuscript and therefore allowed for more detailed recording than a woodblock print, it contains roughly 7,000 more place names than the Daedong yeojido. In particular, it records in detail the names of townships and districts that are omitted from the Daedong yeojido. Looking at the content of the map, the thickness of the red solid lines marking roads differs from volume to volume, and the shades of red used for roads and green used for mountain ranges also vary between volumes, suggesting that several people may have taken part together in copying Dongyeodo. In addition, judging from the pictorial skill shown in depicting the mountain systems and the quality of the calligraphy, it is also likely that government offices were involved in the map's production.
