Haedong Jogye Bogamhwasang japjeo (Miscellaneous Writings of Buddhist Monk Bogam)
해동조계복암화상잡저 · 海東曹溪宓庵和尙雜著

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis book is a work by State Preceptor Wongam (Wongam guksa) Chungji (1226-1292), the sixth head monk of Suseonsa Temple on Jogyesan Mountain in Goryeo. According to the Munheon bigo, a reference compendium, his writings included the Wongam guksa eorok (Recorded Sayings of State Preceptor Wongam) and the Wongam guksa jip (Collected Works of State Preceptor Wongam), but today only the Wongam guksa gasong (Songs of State Preceptor Wongam) and the Haedong Jogye Bogamhwasang japjeo (Miscellaneous Writings of Buddhist Monk Bogam) survive. Some hold the view that this edition is a later reprint struck from woodblocks carved at the end of Goryeo, but it is thought instead to be an edition carved together with the Wongam guksa gasong in the early Joseon period, in the 29th year of King Sejong (1447). As the only surviving edition to have published solely the miscellaneous writings from the collected works of State Preceptor Wongam Chungji, the sixth state preceptor of Suseonsa Temple in the Goryeo period, it is valuable material for research in Buddhist studies and bibliography.
