Seobuk pia yanggye malli illam jido (Comprehensive Map for Defense of West and North Border) (2007)
서북피아양계만리일람지도(2007) · 西北彼我兩界萬里一覽之圖(2007)

This is a late-Joseon defence map of the northern region of Korea together with Manchuria; maps combining this area into a single 'self-and-other' map began to be made mainly from the reign of King Yeongjo in the eighteenth century. The surviving copies of such maps may have been reproduced at different times, but they generally reflect the concerns of Yeongjo's reign, and this map is one of them. The geographical information on Manchuria is based on the Seonggyeongji, while that for Joseon's north-western region draws on information predating Jeong Sang-gi's Dongguk jido (Map of the Eastern Country). It ranks among the finest of the piya maps produced in the late Joseon period. As a defence map of the two-river area along the northern border, it has significant scholarly value and is also of a very high pictorial standard.
