Dolmens in Guam-ri, Buan
부안 구암리 지석묘군 · 扶安 龜岩里 支石墓群

Jiseokmyo, also called goindol (dolmens), are tombs of Bronze Age people. There are two types: the table-shaped (northern) form, set up like a table, and the go-board-style (southern) form, in which a large capstone rests on small supporting stones. Guam-ri originally had 13 dolmens, of which only 10 remain today. They are mostly go-board-style dolmens using natural rock split off and used as capstones; the largest capstone measures 6.35m in length, 4.5m in width and 70-100cm in height, and is set on eight supporting stones arranged around it. Whereas dolmens usually rest on four supporting stones, this one uses eight, a unique form not found in dolmens elsewhere.
