Historic Site of Barracks, Gyeongsan
경산 병영유적 · 慶山 兵營遺蹟

This site is said to have been a military training ground while Kim Yu-sin served as governor of Amnyangju. It comprises the remains at Amnyang-ri, Nae-ri, Seonhwa-ri, and Duruksan, and occupies a low hill. The remains consist of an ancient-style open ground on a raised platform built on the hilly area to the north-west, linked to an earthen platform in the south-east, piled up like a burial mound to form a high stand. The open ground is almost circular, forming a flat, broad space. This open ground appears to have been where soldiers practised martial arts and trained body and mind, while the earthen platform appears to have served as the commander's position for issuing orders. Although the earth piled up on the natural hillock makes it look somewhat like a fortress, it is too small in scale to be regarded as one, and since its upper surface forms a flat open area, it is considered to have been a military training ground. There remains, however, a possibility that an earthen fortification was remodelled for use as a training ground. The site's official name was changed from Amnyang Yujeok to Historic Site of Barracks, Gyeongsan, as announced on 28 July 2011.
