This library building was built by Boseong College, the predecessor of Korea University, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of its founding. Construction began in 1935 and the five-storey building was completed in 1937, designed by Park Dong-jin, who also designed the university's main building. The building is now used as a graduate school building and professors' research offices. The architectural style and structure are said to have referenced the library of Duke University in the United States. The most striking feature is the top of the five-storey, Western medieval-style tower at the corner, decorated with elaborate Gothic window ornamentation. The overall form is grand, while in detail it is a Gothic building constructed of finely worked granite.
