Ancient Tombs in Naksan-ri, Gumi
구미 낙산리 고분군 · 龜尾 洛山里 古墳群

These are Gaya and Silla tombs dating from the 3rd century to the mid-7th century, totalling 205 in number, distributed across an extensive hilly area at an elevation of around 70 m, adjacent to the eastern side of the Nakdonggang River. The earthen mounds covering the tombs are circular or gourd-shaped, and internally they consist of pit tombs (topgwangmyo), jar-coffin tombs (ongwanmyo) and stone-lined tombs (seokgwanmyo). Artefacts found include earthenware such as mounted dishes with a pedestal foot (gobae), ornaments and ironware such as ring-pommel long swords (hwandudaedo). These tombs are important material for understanding the scale and culture of the political power that existed in this region at the time.
