Mujang Town Wall is a flatland fortification about 1.2 km in circumference, built by Kim No, army commander of Mujang Garrison, after the garrison's military commander was given authority to govern the town in 1417. Jinmuru, the south gate of the town wall, is a two-storey building three bays wide and two bays deep, and the site of the east gate is also well preserved. The moat encircling the wall, about 4 m wide and 574 m long, now survives only as traces. Inside the wall stood a guest house and a local government office (dongheon). According to the Annals of King Munjong, the town wall measured 1,470 cheok (about 441 m) in circumference and 7 cheok (about 2 m) in height, while the moat measured 2,127 cheok (about 638 m) in circumference with two gates; the records also note that the wall needed to be enlarged. Mujang Town Wall provides important material for studying the appearance of old town walls of the Joseon period.
