This is the tomb of Queen Sungyeong, consort of King Wonjong of Goryeo (r. 1259-1274). She was the daughter of Kim Yak-seon, who held the title Jangikgong. When Wonjong became crown prince in the twenty-second year of King Gojong of Goryeo (1235), she became crown princess consort with the title Gyeongmok Hyeonbi, and the following year gave birth to King Chungnyeol. It is presumed that she was interred at the present site after her death, around the thirty-first year of King Gojong (1244). In the third year of King Wonjong's reign (1262), she was honoured with the title Queen Jeongsun, and when King Chungnyeol came to the throne (1274), she was elevated in title to Queen Dowager Sungyeong. The stone objects around the tomb have been destroyed and lost, and the mound, which had collapsed, was restored to its present form in 1974.
