This is the tomb of Queen Wondeok of the Yu clan, wife of King Gangjong of Goryeo (r. 1211-1213). Queen Wondeok was the mother of King Gojong of Goryeo, and she became queen consort in the first year of King Gangjong's reign (1212), taking the title Yeondeokgungju. She was later honoured as queen dowager, and in 1253 was given the further posthumous title Jeonggang; the date of her death is not known. The stone objects that once stood at the tomb have been lost, and the mound and the wall enclosing the tomb, both of which had collapsed, were restored to their present form in 1974.
