This is a Baekje-period kiln site on the southern slope of a low hill across the Baengmagang River from Buyeo. Eleven Baekje kilns and one Goryeo-period kiln have been investigated here. The kilns are underground kilns dug into weathered granite bedrock, and survive intact except for their ceilings. Excavated finds include roof-end tiles with lotus designs, box-shaped bricks, earthenware, and various roof tiles. The lotus-design roof-end tiles resemble examples found at Gunsu-ri and Dongnam-ri, suggesting that tiles fired here were supplied to major buildings in Buyeo. As a Baekje-period kiln site (late sixth to early seventh century) that survives in good condition, it is an important site for the study of Baekje kilns.
