Kiln Sites in Sabu-dong and Gisan-dong, Goryeong
고령 사부동과 기산동 요지 · 高靈 沙鳧洞과 箕山洞 窯址

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis is a kiln site used from the end of the 14th century through the 15th century. Judging from the fragments of bowls, dishes and other vessels excavated here, it is thought to have produced inlaid celadon and buncheong ware. Among the 324 kilns recorded nationwide in the Jiriji, the Geographical Appendix of the Sejong sillok (the Annals of King Sejong), this is one of those renowned for producing porcelain of the finest quality. It appears to have been the place that made the vessels bearing the surviving inscriptions 'Goryeong Insu-bu (高靈仁壽府)' and 'Goryeong Jangheung-go (高靈長興庫).' Bowls and dishes make up most of the products made here; the vessel walls are generally thick, and the decoration is mostly of chrysanthemum, cloud and spiral patterns.
