Yongsan Theological School was built in 1892, designed and supervised by the French priest Father Coste. It is a brick building with one semi-basement floor and two storeys above ground, and is Korea's first theological school building; it has an entrance and a basement doorway at the centre, with stairs on either side leading up to the first-floor entrance. After the school relocated to Hyehwa-dong, the building was used as a branch of Seongmo Hospital, and it is now used as a convent by the Sisters of the Sacred Heart. Part of the original building has been extended, but it retains most of its original appearance. As Korea's oldest surviving theological school building, Yongsan Theological School holds very important architectural and historical significance.
