Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.kr'Gudeurae' is the name of a ferry landing on the bank of the Baengmagang River at the foot of Busosan Mountain, and is thought to derive from the word 'gudeuldol' (heated floor-stone). According to the Samguk yusa, one account holds that when the Baekje king was on his way to worship at Wangheungsa Temple, he climbed a rock on the bank of the Sabisu (river) and bowed to Buddha, whereupon the rock warmed of its own accord; the place was then called 'Jaondae' (自溫臺, 'self-warming platform'), and this name is said to have changed to gudeuldol and then to Gudeurae. It is also said that ships travelling between Baekje and Wa entered Sabi, the Baekje capital, through this landing, and that the name Wa used for Baekje, 'Kudara', is connected with 'Gudeurae'. Crossing the Gudeurae landing, at the southern foot of Ulseongsan Mountain stands Wangheungsa Temple, founded in the second year of King Beopwang of Baekje (600), and the Baengmagang River, recorded in old documents as the 'river of Sabi', flows around Busosan Mountain. On both banks of the Baengmagang River lie relics from that era, including Wangheungsa Temple, the Hoham-ri temple site, Busosanseong Fortress and Buyeo Naseong (the outer wall of Buyeo), where beautiful natural scenery and time-honoured cultural heritage exist in harmony.
