Mangyeongdae Cliff is a peak 922.2m above sea level, directly in front of Osaeam Hermitage, and a renowned viewpoint from which the spectacular scenery of Yongajangseong Ridge, Gongnyongneungseon (Dinosaur Ridge), Heukseondong Valley and Nahanbong Peak can be taken in at a glance. Looking out from Mangyeongdae Cliff, one sees, directly in front, Osaeam Hermitage: Master Jajang built a hermitage here in 643, the twelfth year of Queen Seondeok of Silla, calling it Gwaneumam Hermitage, and after it fell into ruin it was rebuilt as Osaeam Hermitage by Seoljeong in 1643, the twenty-first year of King Injo — adding still further to the site's historical, cultural and scenic value.
