Dinosaur Tracksite in Jeo-ri, Uiseong
의성 제오리 공룡발자국 화석산지 · 義城 提梧里 恐龍발자국 化石産地

The Dinosaur Tracksite in Jeo-ri, Uiseong, was discovered in 1989 while soil was being cut away from a hillside during the widening of a local road in Uiseong-gun. The tracks lie in strata deposited about 110 million years ago, in the middle Cretaceous period, in river and floodplain areas within the Gyeongsang Basin. It was the first dinosaur-related site to be designated a natural monument in Korea, and is notable for the high density of footprints preserved there. More than 300 footprints have been observed across a total of four rock horizons. Because the size of the feet, the length of stride and the direction of walking can all be read from the tracks, the Dinosaur Tracksite in Jeo-ri, Uiseong, is a valuable resource for studying the appearance and behaviour of dinosaurs at the time, and has high academic value. The site's name was revised from an earlier spelling variant by notification of 26 July 2021.
