Nest of Theropod Dinosaur Eggs from Aphaedo Island, Sinan
KOGL Type 1Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.kr

The nest of theropod dinosaur eggs from Aphaedo Island, Sinan, is Korea's largest dinosaur egg-nest fossil, with a diameter of 2.3 m, a height of about 60 cm and a weight of 3 tonnes. It contains 19 dinosaur eggs, each measuring 385 to 430 mm in diameter, making them the largest eggs found in Korea as well. It provides highly important data for understanding the palaeobiogeographic distribution, egg-laying habits and habitat environment of carnivorous dinosaurs in the late Cretaceous period. Note: by official notice dated 26 July 2021, the Korean-language designation title was adjusted to join two words into one compound term for "egg nest", with no change to the site itself.
