This is a small thatched house; entering the main gate, the anchae (main quarters) lies to the north and a pigsty to the west. The anchae is a south-facing house made up of two ondol (heated) rooms and a large kitchen. The doors of the large room and the small room differ in size, and beside the door of the large room there is an additional small window (meoritchang). This is a structure often seen in the southern coastal region. In front of the room doors is a wooden bench platform (tteulmaru) of a subtly mismatched size and shape. The kitchen was made considerably wider because its rear wall was built along the line of the rear toe-kan (eave-bay) pillars, and light enters through a latticed window opened in the upper part of the wall, making it relatively bright. In the yard to the east of the kitchen is a jangdokdae (platform for storage jars), and the rest of the broad plot is a vegetable garden. It is presumed to have been a fairly well-constructed house, built by a trained carpenter. This heritage site is usually open to the public, but access may be restricted for personal reasons such as those of the owner.
