Bamboo Rafter House in Naganeupseong Walled Town, Suncheon
Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.kr · no licence stated

This thatched house stands on an alley leading north off the main road that connects the east and west gates of Naganeupseong, to the west of that road. It is a very small house with one kitchen bay and two rooms. The main gate is simply an opening left in the surrounding wall; entering it leads into a fairly spacious courtyard, at the far end of which the anchae (main quarters) stands facing south. It is arranged in the order of kitchen, large room and small room, with a toenmaru (narrow wooden veranda) in front of the rooms and a small closet behind the large room. Beside the small room, an L-shaped (ㄱ) stone wall has been built, and the space enclosed by it is used as a shed. A well is set in front of the kitchen, and part of the broad courtyard is used as a kitchen garden and vegetable plot. This heritage site is usually open to the public, but access may be restricted for personal reasons such as those of the owner.
