Princess Deokon (1822–1844) was the third daughter of King Sunjo. She was born on 10 June 1822, the fifth year of King Sunjo's reign, and in 1837, the third year of King Heonjong, at the age of sixteen, married Yun Ui-seon, who held the title Namnyeongwi. It is said that in May 1844, the tenth year of King Heonjong, she took part in the selection process for King Heonjong's second queen, but after eating food that disagreed with her she died in the palace along with the child she was then carrying. Articles the princess had used in her lifetime were kept by Yun Baek-yeong, daughter of Yun Yong-gu, and were donated in several batches from the 1960s onward to Professor Seok Ju-seon (1911–1996). These items are now held at the Seok Ju-seon Memorial Museum of Dankook University. Among them, a single purple-red dangui woven with gold thread was designated a National Folklore Heritage in 1964 as "Princess Deokon's Dangui," while the remaining set of items — six garments together with thirty-three other accessories and everyday articles — was separately designated a National Folklore Heritage in 1987. "Clothes Worn by Princess Deokon" comprises a total of six garments: one wonsam (ceremonial robe), one dangui (ceremonial jacket), one jangot (outer coat), one samhoejang jeogori (a jacket with tricoloured trim), and two quilted samhoejang jeogori.
