Songseokheon House, Bonghwa
봉화 송석헌 고택 · 奉化 松石軒 古宅

This house was built by Gwon I-beon (1678–1763) for his son, Gwon Myeong-sin, pen name Seonam (1706–1778); the main hall was erected making use of the sloping ground at the entrance to Seondol Village. To the right of the main hall is the men's quarters, which is connected to the two-storey Yeongpungnu Pavilion. It shows well the various functions and character of a late-Joseon scholar-official's residence in the Yeongnam region, and is an old house of high refinement that faithfully preserves traditional customs, notably its tall stone platform making use of the difference in ground level, its unusual floor plan, and its almost complete set of everyday folk implements. It was originally designated Gyeongsangbuk-do folklore material as Songseokheon House, Bonghwa, on 14 May 1991, but following an application on 12 April 2007 it was redesignated a national folklore heritage on 12 October 2007.
