This is the head house of Gwibong Kim Su-il, believed to have first been built in 1660, the first year of King Hyeonjong, and it is a typical mid-Joseon jongtaek, the head house of a clan's main descent line. Arranged in a square (ㅁ-shaped) plan, it consists of a gate quarters, a men's quarters, a women's quarters and a shrine hall; the shrine enshrines the memorial tablet of Uncheon Kim Yong, and the house holds the Uncheon Hojong ilgi, a Treasure-designated diary kept within the head house. Nearby stands the Uiseong Kim Clan Head House, also a Treasure. Although the floor plan of the women's quarters and the framing method here differ from those of the Uiseong Kim Clan Head House, the main house of the larger clan, they also show similarities in style and technique.
