A budo is a stone stupa erected to enshrine the remains of eminent monks. These two budo originally stood on the site of Unheungsa Temple and are now located within the grounds of Sijeoksa Temple. Because they resemble a bell in shape, they are called stone bell-shaped stupas, and both were made during the Joseon period. Stone bell-shaped stupas of this kind were built mainly from the late Goryeo period through the Joseon period. These stupas have no base stone, and the body of the stupa bears no particular carved decoration. Each stupa's body rests on a pedestal carved with a lotus design, which in turn sits on a base stone carved with an arabesque pattern. They measure 152 cm and 160 cm respectively. An academic excavation of the Unheungsa temple site was carried out in 2001, uncovering a large number of important remains and artefacts, including the sites of seven buildings, six stupas and four water basins.
