Gwangyang Seonghwang-ri Three-story Stone Pagoda
광양성황리삼층석탑 · 光陽城隍里三層石塔

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis stone pagoda has a two-tiered base supporting a three-storey body, topped with a finial. Pillar-shaped carvings are placed at the four corners and at the centre of each face of both the lower and upper tiers of the base. The body of the pagoda is built with a single stone for each storey's body and roof stone, and corner pillars are neatly carved at the edges of each storey's body stone. Each roof stone has three-tiered supports on its underside and a steep slope on its upper surface. Above the third-storey roof stone, the finial is completed in sequence with a noban (a flat stone base for the finial), a bokbal (an ornament shaped like an overturned bowl) and a boju (an ornament shaped like a flower bud). It is presumed to have been made in the late Goryeo period.
