Standing at the front of Bugangchodeung School, this lecture hall was built in 1926, in the early days of the school's operation. It measures six kan across the front and two kan along the side (kan being a traditional unit marking the space between pillars), and is topped with a hipped-and-gabled (paljak) roof. According to a written record (silgi) documenting the history, date and motives behind its construction, the hall was built through the sweat and devotion of the pupils' parents; construction began in 1925 and the building was completed on 17 October 1926. As a lecture hall from the early period of elementary-school education, it has preserved its original structure and form unchanged since construction, and together with the surviving written record it is valued as important historical material.
