This is a Gwanwangmyo, a shrine enshrining a portrait of Guan Yu, styled Unjang, the renowned general of the Chinese Three Kingdoms period — one of the shrines to Guan Yu that once stood at the east, west, south and north of Seoul's old city walls. The building measures three bays across the front and one bay on the side, and has a gabled roof that forms the shape of the character 人 (person) when seen from the side. It has a four-panel hinged door, and inside enshrines statues of Guan Yu and his wife. Seong Je Tomb provides valuable material for understanding the folk beliefs and ritual structures of the Joseon period.
