This pagoda stands on a site traditionally identified as the former location of Sangmansa Temple; today a new temple called Guamsa has been built there and looks after it. It consists of a five-storey body set on a two-tiered base. Faint pillar shapes are carved on the upper tier of the base and on the body stones of each storey, though on the body stones they are almost indiscernible. The roof stones carry three tiers of eave supports on their undersides from the first to the fourth storey, reduced to two tiers on the fifth. At the top, a finial ornament shaped like a flower bud (bojoo) survives above the base plate (noban), forming the pagoda's crowning decoration. Overall the pagoda follows the style of Unified Silla stone pagodas, but the carving has become largely perfunctory and the number of eave supports is inconsistent, suggesting that it was actually built in the Goryeo period.
