This is a register recording the names of those who passed the military service examination (mugwa) during the Joseon dynasty. It was first compiled in 1720, the forty-sixth year of King Sukjong, by Kim Yeo-gang, Kim U-cheon, Yang Yu-seong and others. Its contents are arranged in the order of preface, regulations (jeolmok), and the list of names. The preface was written by Yi Gi-bal, who had passed in the 1658 Musul-year examination round (a term for successful candidates not yet appointed to office) in the ninth year of King Hyojong. The list records the names of 338 successful candidates in total, from the 1558 Muo-year examination round in the thirteenth year of King Myeongjong onward, together with the sexagenary-cycle year in which each man passed. The list also appears to have been added to continually by various people in later generations.
