Hall State Preceptor Doseon Jigintong
전도선국사직인통 · 傳道詵國師職印筒

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThese three official seal cases (jigintong), said to have been used by State Preceptor Doseon in the late Unified Silla period, each have a lid; two are cylindrical and one is octagonal. The lids have a knob on top, and a long vertical iron fitting is attached to the front to hold a lock. On each side are two rings, one above the other, and the lower body and the central opening section are reinforced with iron bands. The upper part, too, is fitted and decorated with iron so that the case cannot come apart. Judging from the technique and the various iron fittings, however, it is difficult to date these pieces to the lifetime of State Preceptor Doseon (827–898); they are presumed instead to have been made later, in the late Goryeo period.
