A spirit-path stele (sindobi) is a stone monument recording the lifetime achievements of a king or high official, erected to the southeast of his tomb; this stele commemorates the career of Yi Jeung, a civil official of the early Joseon period. Yi Jeung's clan seat was Goseong. Under King Seongjong of Joseon he served as magistrate of Yeongsan-hyeon, and later rose to the post of Vice Minister of the Board of Personnel. The stele consists of a base stone with an upright body and a capstone set on top. It was erected in 1818, the eighteenth year of King Sunjo; the inscription was composed by Han Chi-eung and the calligraphy written by Yi Ga-sun. It originally stood elsewhere, but when the construction of Andong Dam threatened it with submersion, it was moved to this spot, at the entrance to Sudajae.
