Seolgyosi Album
설교시첩 · 雪窖詩帖

The Seolgyosi Album is a compilation in which Jo Han-yeong (1608-1670), who had been taken captive alongside him, recorded and bound into a single volume the poems composed by Kim Sang-heon (pen name Cheongeum, 1570-1652) during the more than four years he spent as a hostage in Shenyang, Qing China, following the Manchu invasion of 1636. The title given on the cover is "Seolgyosicheop" (雪窖詩帖), but Kim Sang-heon's own preface, included in the album, shows that its original title was "Seolgyo Suchangjip" (雪窖酬唱集). The Seolgyosi Album contains forty-three poems by Kim Sang-heon, of which thirty-three are also included in the "Seolgyojip" section of his literary collection, the Cheongeumjip, but with slight differences, which gives the work value as material that can complement the other.
