Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis is the shrine dedicated to Kim Hyo-ro (1445–1534), the first member of the Gwangsan Kim clan to settle in Ocheon-ri, and his great-grandson Kim Hae (1555–1592), together with the jaesa (a house for ancestral rites) attached to Hujodang. Because of the construction of Andong Dam, the buildings were moved in 1975 from their original site on the banks of the Nakdonggang River in Ocheon-ri to their present location. Two years after Kim Hyo-ro's death, in 1536 — the 31st year of King Jungjong of Joseon — his descendants joined together to build the shrine and hold ancestral rites there. Kim Hae, who died a martyr's death while serving as commander of the righteous army of Yeongnam during the Japanese invasion of 1592 (the 25th year of King Seonjo), was later enshrined alongside him.
